Step inside Shannon Levy’s Beauty Closet and you’r esure not to leave empty-handed. A former editor of Makeup Artist magazine and makeup411.com’s beauty director, Levy opened her boutique in October 2004 to fill a void in the marketplace. “Being from the ‘Valley,’ I realized there was a lack of places to buy high-end products. I thought that something intimate and boutique-y would be a perfect alternative to the chaos of the department stores.”
The Beauty Closet carries a bevy of truly hard-to-find lines including Hourglass Cosmetics, Paul & Joe Beauté and Scott Barnes Beauty. Hollywood hipsters Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff and Selma Blair frequent the space, as do LA fasionistas who come in to utilize The Beauty Closet’s many in-store services, including makeup application, lash tinting, lip waxing and brow shaping—and word on the street is their in-house brow artist is amazing!
